Echometrix LLC develops ultrasound systems for the orthopedic market.  These systems employ patented technology to quantitatively measure the mechanical and functional properties of soft tissues.  Echometrix Ultrasound Systems represent a breakthrough technology for the advanced diagnosis and monitoring of soft tissue pathologies. 

Echometrix LLC was founded in July 2007 by Dr. Hirohito Kobayashi, Dr. Ray Vanderby, and Dr. Barbara A. Israel.  The company was founded to commercialize technology developed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison by Drs. Kobayashi and Vanderby.
